Danylo Semenyuk (*2011 in Ukraine) began studying the cello at the age of seven and received an early musical education at the Solomiya Krushelnytska Music Gymnasium in Lviv and the Mykola Lysenko Music Gymnasium in Kyiv.

At the age of 13, he made his debut as a soloist. Since then he has performed with orchestras such as the Philharmonie Baden-Baden and the Geringas Chamber Orchestra, and appeared at venues including the Musikverein Vienna, the Kurhaus Baden-Baden and the Beethoven-Haus Bonn. In addition to his performance activities, he is actively engaged in composition.

In 2022, he continued his musical training in Germany with Professor Christian Brunnert. Currently he is studying at the Pre-College Cologne at the University of Music and Dance Cologne with Grigory Alumyan.

His artistic development has been further enriched through masterclasses with internationally renowned cellists such as Maria Kliegel, Ivan Monighetti, Steven Isserlis, Wolfgang Emanuel Schmidt, Gary Hoffman, David Geringas and Pablo Ferrández. In addition, Danylo is a scholarship holder of the International Music Academy in Liechtenstein, where he regularly takes part in the academy’s intensive programmes.

Danylo is a prizewinner of numerous national and international competitions. His awards include the 1st Prize at the Gustav Mahler International Cello Competition, the First Great Award at the Vienna International Music Competition, Absolute Prize at the Ravel Award International Music Competition and several 1st Prizes at the German national competition Jugend musiziert. In 2025, he was awarded the Werner Stiefel Prize at the Carl Flesch

Academy in Baden-Baden and became a scholarship holder of the German Foundation for Musical Life.
