Noga Shaham

The young Israeli violist Noga Shaham is known for her exceptional warm tone and honest artistic expression, which shines through in every musical endeavor, whether performing as a soloist or collaborating in chamber music. Currently enrolled at the esteemed Kronberg Academy, Noga is dedicated to developing and realizing her artistic potential. This season, her talent and profound musicianship were showcased in performances at London’s Wigmore Hall, Geneva Victoria Hall, Hamburg Elbphilharmonie, and the Berliner Philharmonie.

Noga aims to create a musical environment where unspoken thoughts are expressed through mutual listening and interaction, allowing individual musical personalities to coexist.

Born in 2001 into a musical family, Noga pursued her studies as a violinist under the guidance of her father, Hagai Shaham. In 2023, she completed her Bachelor’s degree at the University of the Arts Berlin with Prof. Nora Chastain.

Noga won Second Prize at the Cecil Aronowitz International Viola Competition in 2021. She has appeared as a soloist with international orchestras such as the Jerusalem Symphony Orchestra, the Israel Symphony Orchestra, Württembergisches Kammerorchester Heilbronn, and the Franz Liszt Chamber Orchestra.

As a sought-after chamber musician, Noga has performed with world-renowned artists including Christoph Eschenbach, Janine Jansen, Clara-Jumi Kang, Gidon Kremer, András Schiff, Martin Fröst, Timothy Ridout, Amihai Grosz, Antje Weithaas, Christian Tetzlaff, Gary Hoffman, Torleif Thedéen, Raphael Wallfisch, Miklós Perényi, Antonio Lysy, Ettore Causa, the Busch Trio, and Jörg Widmann. She has participated in prominent festivals such as Utrecht International Kamermuziek Festival, Sion Festival, Verbier Festival, Crans-Montana Classics, Kronberg Academy ‘Chamber Music Connects the World,’ Gstaad Menuhin Academy, and Ozawa Academy.

A scholarship recipient of the America-Israel Cultural Foundation since 2013, Noga is also a graduate of the David Goldman Chamber Music Program at the Jerusalem Music Centre. She is generously supported by the Stretton Society as well as by Freunde Junger Musiker Berlin since 2025. Funded by Dr. Rolf M.
